We were very honoured to have Ex-coach and veteran Comrades runner Don Oliver – ( with 19 medals under his belt! ) and his wonderful wife Olwyn ( with 7 medals to her name ) stay here with us at Bancroft B&B for the 2009 and 2010 Comrades. A charming and most modest couple, they are truly inspirational!
Being only 9kms to the start of the race Bancroft B&B is a good choice for Comrades runners and their support team. On both occasions my good friend Gaynor Johnson who owns Bustles Café here in Hilton put on a fabulous carbo-loading evening for the runners which was in the early evening to allow runners a good long nights sleep afterwards. We all went out for dinner the night before the race and enjoyed Gaynor’s generous spread.
